Welcome to Manx One (com.manxone.app). This Privacy Policy explains how the Manx One app collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
• We do not require account registration
• We do not collect your precise location
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or files
• We do not sell any data to third parties
• We do not show advertisements

1.2 Anonymous Usage Data (via Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how the app is used, which helps us improve features. This data is anonymous and aggregated:

• App version and device type (e.g., "Android 14, Pixel 8")
• Country/region (e.g., "United Kingdom")
• Which app features you use (e.g., "viewed jobs screen")
• App session duration
• App open events

This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

1.3 Crash Reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes, we collect anonymous crash data to fix bugs:

• Type of crash and stack trace
• Device model and Android/iOS version
• App version
• Anonymized device identifier (not linked to you)

1.4 Push Notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)

With your permission, we send occasional push notifications (e.g., new job alerts, important Isle of Man updates). To do this:

• Your device receives a unique anonymous token from Firebase
• This token is used only to deliver notifications to your device
• You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings
• We do not link this token to your identity

1.5 Data Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device and never sent to us:

• Bookmarks (saved jobs)
• App preferences (theme, etc.)

2. Third-Party Services

Manx One displays content from public Isle of Man sources. When you use certain features, you may connect to:

• services.gov.im — for job listings
• jobtrain.co.uk — for government jobs
• airport.im — for flight information
• steam-packet.com — for ferry sailings
• whatsoniom.im — for events
• findmybus.im — for bus tracking
• gov.im — for weather and webcams
• Manx Radio, 3FM, Energy FM, etc. — for radio streams
• tynwald.org.im — for parliamentary documents (when enabled)

Each of these has its own privacy policy. Manx One only displays publicly available data from these sources — we don't share your information with them.

We also use these Google services:

• Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage stats. Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications

3. Permissions We Request

The app may ask for these Android/iOS permissions:

• Internet access — to fetch jobs, weather, flight info, etc.
• Notifications — optional, only if you want push alerts
• Foreground service — to keep radio playing in the background
• Wake lock — to keep your device awake while playing radio

Tapping a phone number or email in the app opens your device's dialer or email app — we don't make calls or send emails directly.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Bookmarks and preferences are stored locally on your device
• No personal data is transmitted to our servers
• Firebase data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
• We retain analytics data only as long as Google's standard retention policy (typically 14 months)

5. Your Rights

Because we don't collect personal information, there's nothing personal to delete. However:

• Disable analytics: Uninstall the app, or contact us to opt out
• Disable notifications: In your device's notification settings
• Clear local data: Uninstall the app or clear app data in device settings
• Request data deletion: Contact us at the email below

6. Children's Privacy

Manx One is suitable for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will remove any associated data.

7. International Users

The app is primarily designed for the Isle of Man and UK. By using the app, you consent to data being processed by Google Firebase servers (which may be located in the EU or US).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
